Blackmagic Design today announced HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, a new SMPTE 2110 IP video recorder with 100G Ethernet that lets customers record all their cameras for live production. This means customers can also use DaVinci Resolve for live action replay. HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G uses a single 100G Ethernet connection to connect all 8 video channels, plus it records high-quality Apple ProRes video to network storage via 100G Ethernet. This makes it an extremely advanced design that's built for the future of broadcast. HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G will be available in June from Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide for US$4,995.
The HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G will be demonstrated on the Blackmagic Design NAB 2026 booth #N2502.

At the center of any post production workflow is shared network storage. That's why HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G records to network storage using extremely fast 100G Ethernet. Only 100G Ethernet can record 8 channels of ProRes HQ in Ultra HD. HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G also has two dedicated 100G data ports for redundancy. Recording to network disks is easy, just browse the network storage servers and select the desired folder. Now editors can simply log into the network storage and access all their media in one location. DaVinci Resolve can even edit media while it's being recorded. Plus with DaVinci Resolve's broadcast play-out features, it's also an amazing live action replay solution.

Recording all cameras during live production allows customers to re-edit and color correct their program later. Because HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G records to network storage, customers can have multiple workstations accessing the same storage, even while recording. This makes live action sports replay easy and low cost. Just download DaVinci Resolve free of charge to get started. All the cameras will be displayed in a multi-view in the viewer so customers can even live scroll all angles in real time. Then select the angle customers want and press "On Air" to go live. While playing to air, customers can select a new angle in DaVinci's multi-view. Adding a DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor will make replay even faster.

The HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G boasts a revolutionary design that combines broadcast deck controls with extremely quiet front-to-back cooling and full redundancy on all video and data connections. The LCD screen supports both light and dark modes, plus the transport control buttons have a firm, professional feel. For true elegance, the design includes a machined metal search dial with increased mass and a soft rubber surface that feels extremely nice to the touch. Plus the search dial features an active clutch, just like a traditional broadcast deck. The front panel even includes a headphone connection and built-in speaker. A USB-C connection on the front panel makes software updates easy.

HyperDeck ISO Recorder features SMPTE-2110 connections using 100G Ethernet, so it can connect to all 8 record and playback video channels on a single physical connection. Plus it has two separate 100G Ethernet ports for redundancy, letting customers connect each port to completely separate network switches. This is called SMPTE 2022-7 Seamless Protection Switching. It sends two identical copies of video and audio across both connections, while on the receive side it compares incoming RTP packets by sequence number and will then reconstruct a perfect video frame from whichever packet of pixels arrives first. The switchover is totally seamless with no dropped frames or audio glitches.

Broadcasters need reliable equipment with redundancy and technical status information. The SMPTE 2110 IP video connection uses two redundant 100G Ethernet connections for connecting to two separate video networks. There are also two redundant 100G Ethernet connections for network storage. Although customers can share data and video on a single connection if they don't need all this redundancy. Even the PTP and control ports are redundant. There are also multiple redundant cooling fans and redundant AC power supplies.

The HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G thermal system pulls air through the front panel, so all transport controls are located on a small island on the right side. The search dial is a machined metal design with a soft rubber coating and an electronic clutch. The transport buttons include record, play, stop, fast forward, rewind, previous clip, next clip and input. HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G supports recording video to Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT so customers get high quality files that customers can edit and color correct later in post-production. Apple ProRes files are widely used in the broadcast industry, ensuring their recorded media is fully compatible with software like DaVinci Resolve, Media Composer, Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro. The best storage options are the Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra or the Blackmagic Cloud Dock Ultra, as these 2 products feature incredibly fast 100G Ethernet ports. That's one port for the HyperDeck and one port for the computer network.

With HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, customers get a modern SMPTE 2110 based design, but it retains RS-422 serial deck control ports for using existing broadcast automation systems. HyperDeck also supports the Advanced Media Protocol for managing disk recorders. The full set of support remote commands are included in the instruction manual.

HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G supports multiple languages so customers don't need to learn a new language just to use it. Supported languages include English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Polish and Ukrainian.

"This HyperDeck is the most advanced recorder we have ever designed," said Grant Petty, Blackmagic Design CEO. "Everything about it is different! But the most exciting use for it is live action replay. We can record 8 channels of Ultra HD video in only 2 rack units. This is dramatically smaller and lower cost than anything possible in the past."
